Hillel Green
Sustainability is not only a necessity to keep our world clean and safe for generations to come, but it is also an integral part of Judaism. At Hofstra Hillel, we offer Hillel Green, a wide-ranging group of programs that highlight the importance of the nature that surrounds us.

Tikkun HaYam Reverse Tashlich (Beach Clean-Up)
We envision a Jewish community that is committed to the protection and preservation of the Marine Environment. In 2021, Jews around the world joined the 4th Annual Reverse Tashlich.
Jewish communities from 18 countries and 30 states, including Hofstra Hillel, made a commitment to take part in Reverse Tashlich and begin 5782 by coming together to stop pollution of our blue planet by removing "sins" (man-made debris) from local beaches, waterfronts, parks, and piers, as a part of their Jewish values. Hofstra Hillel's Reverse Tashlich took place at Jones Beach.
We will be participating in the 5th Annual Reverse Tashlich on October 2, 2022.

Nature Walks
Hofstra's 244-acre campus received official recognition as an Arboretum in 1985, with our membership in the prestigious American Public Gardens Association. We are one of only 430 arboreta in the United States. Today, more than 12,000 evergreen and deciduous trees represent 625 species and varieties, and the number is increasing every year.
Throughout the academic year, we will take guided walks around campus for students to connect better to nature and use our beautiful campus to enhance their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
